We know how to be a follower.

The follow button is the boldest feature on any social media platform. We’re highly experienced on how to follow along with people’s picture-perfect lives or follow with bated breath as breaking stories unfold in the news.

But to be a leader—that’s where the instructions from the user manual get a bit muddy. 

Discipleship is all about the position of serving others, not the power of how many followers you can accumulate, and it speaks of building a solid working relationship with the Holy Spirit, not your ego.

At the end of the day, walking worthy isn’t a list of do’s and don’ts. It means our heart focuses on living out a life that is fully pleasing to Him. So we need to stop trying to impress the world. We need to stop trying to be something you’re not, and just live to please the one Who created us.

Being a sojourner here on earth should not stop me from staying on a mission to spread the message of Jesus and His atoning work on the cross. Knowing we are temporarily stationed here on earth to share the gospel compels us to more urgently spread the good news to those who go without hope.

Objective morality matters because it is the lens through which we view our own actions and decisions. Either our decisions and actions are governed by God’s definite standards or they fall in alignment with a reckless and crazed culture.

Why is it so important to know exactly Who Christ is?

Because whatever shapes your thoughts on Who Christ is what forms the foundation of your life—how you view the future, how you build your identity, how you talk, and where you go. Because Christ as the Creator of all things, is before all things.
